I was born on the 14th of January 1995, in Milan, Italy, while I was born it was snowing outside, I was marked form the very first baby suit I was put into, it had “don’t worry, be happy” written on it, and there was a Bobby McFerrin song playing on the radio. From when I was very young my mother started to give me Bach flowers, in order for me sto grow healthy, I never really understood if they were useful or not. On the other hand my first baby suit definetly had a positive effect, during my life up to now I have never worried to much, maybe I am starting now….. My passion for music always remained very important to me and I would say that partially I live for music. I have alway been a very positive and happy person and this also means that I love and have a lot of regard for life in general, for people and certain activities, but I can also easily be bothered or lose interest for something in a very short time. I have always had some difficulties in doing the things I had to do and hated or found useless, I believe that in life we should be doing what we do for passion instead of doing what we have to do. The more I grow up and develop as a person the more I understand that soemtimes we just have to deal with things and try to find uses for them. Going back to my story I could say that after my baby years I dedicated a lot of my time in doing quite a few sports, such as swimming, tennis, volleyball and judo, I did all these sports because I always had plenty of energy and I wanted to use it in a constructive way. At one point in my life a very important decicion was made by my parents , they decided to adopt a girl, and after years of papers and meeting people we found ourselves going to Katmandu in Nepal, and at the age of 11 I meet the girl that is now one of the most important women of my life, my sister Maya. At the beginning it wasn’t easy, but now we have a strong, wonderfull and unique relationship. I have always lived in Milan but I have done alot of travelling during holidays and I have had the possibility to observe many different cultures, countries and traditions, which I find definetly useful and it has been very useful for me to be able to adapt to sharing a house here in Amsterdam. I have always been able to look after myself and very autonomous in my sports and their organization, this also because of the absence of my parents at home while they were at work or during the time which they were travelling which is often. From this I had a great opportunity and also developped a passion, I learnt how to cook and got very interested into it by trying out international and regional italian menu’s. The only thing I haven’t been very good at becoming autonomous in is organizing my studies, but I will explain more about this in the DSA window. Besides cooking and music, I love to go out with friends, and to organize big dinners with friends and family, some of my freinds say that I’m like their councellor, and from what my friends and family told me I am also a great vacation planner.

For thre years i went to study English wiht a group of other dyslexic boys and girls in England Scotland and Ireland. It is very difficlut for dyslexic people to learn English due to tha fact that a sound can be written in many different ways.
After my high School Diploma i went to Ireland for one year to improve my english skills.
I love cooking and have attended cookery courses
As i discovered at an early age to be dyslexic, i had to find a peculiar way to learn and remember what I study. I trained myself to use several tools that I find particularly useful. Here are some of them: 1) Mind Maps - i use mind maps to understand a subject and how it is connected with other subjects. Mind maps are "octopus shaped" diagrams that relate different concepts and are often used in brainstormings; 2) Concept Maps - I use them to prioritize the different concepts. That helps me understand the main points of a given topic; 3) Pattern (schema in Italian) - this helps me to build the rationale of what I have to present, connecting the ideas in a sequential and logical way; 4) Rehearsal - i practice what i have to say to check my learning, fine tune the concepts, and test how much time I require to make my speech. These four steps allow me to be effective and avoid reading several times the documents that I have to study. Being dyslexic reading take me a lot of time and attention. How can i learn better? 1) watching videos rather than reading books; 2) listening to a teacher and observing him in person as i find the body language very useful to understand what is really important; 3) clarifying the goal of what i am required to study or do; 4) working with other people in a busy and live environment.
